1) The 13th Edition of TIM is open to soloists and ensembles of all ages and nationalities in the following disciplines:

2) The TIM consists of 4 Rounds: Audition, Qualifying Concert, Semifinal and Final. Candidates who passed the 2007 Preselection have direct access to the second or third round. Past TIM winners and other international competitions winners may apply to skip the first rounds when sending the application form with a bio (or more material) attached.

3) The contestants may choose where to perform the audition and/or Qualifying Concert, choosing the city among those listed. The music programme is totally free as all styles, even transcriptions are accepted. The contestants will be notified about the address of the venue and the exact time of the audition, as any last minute changings by mail.

4) Indipendently from TIM’s Audition, soloists registered in the wind and string disciplines who wish to be part of the Orchestra Europea D’Arti Discanto based in Verona, may take an audition in the meantime.

5) A piano accompanist is at the disposal of soloists who ask for it on the application form and attach the piano scores.

6) An international jury will judge the contestants at all rounds. A the Qualifying Concert and at the Final Round, the audience is involved in the notation as well.

7) After taking part in the initial Audition, the contestants may receive a Participation certificate (up to 79/100 points), a Merit Certificate (up to 90/100) or an Honour Diploma (up to 100/100). An Honour Diploma is necessary to be admitted to the next rounds. Once all the Qualifying Concerts are over, an international jury will name those who are to be admitted to the Semifinal Rounds. For each discipline, 2 contestants will be admitted to the Final Round. The TIM Grand Prix will be awarded to the First Prize winner with the highest score at the Final Round.

8) Finalists get a standard reimbursement of their travel expenses and a number of concerts - 3 for every First Prize and 1 for every Second Prize - in the next season, paid from 300 Euros up to 3,000 Euros per concert.

9) Contestants taking part in the COMPOSITION discipline must send their application form and the registration fee according to Art. 11, but have until January 31st, 2008 to submit 3 copies of their work to the TIM office. The composition must not be longer than 10 minutes, may already be published, can be for soloists or for a chamber ensemble, even for a symphonic orchestra. An international jury will award a First Prize and a Second Prize. Both compositions will be played in the next concert season at TIM’s expense. The First Prize winner will receive 1,000 Euros and the Second Prize winner 750 Euros. The jury may mention other good works to the main publishers.

10) Contestants taking part in the MUSIC CRITICISM discipline must send their application form and the registration fee according to Art. 11, but have until January 31st, 2008 to submit 3 copies of their work to the TIM office. The reviews can be about a CD or any live musical event (opera show, concert etc.). The reviews must not be longer than 2 pages and written in one of the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish. An international jury will award a First Prize and a Second Prize. SUONARE news magazine will hire both winners as follows: 6 reviews published and 1,000 Euros paid to the First Prize; 5 reviews and 750 Euros paid to the Second Prize. The jury may mention other good contestants to the main music magazines.

Note: Contestants requesting an official piano accompanist, add 50 €
Duos = 120 €
Trios = 150 €
Quartets = 160 €
Other groups :=180 €
Note: Candidates who succeeded the 2007 Preselection are exempt from the fee.

12) The Jury retains the right to stop a performance and all Jury’s decisions will be final. Contestants accept the Rules which are also printed in German, French, Spanish and Italian. In case of dispute, the italian text shall govern.
